Ansel Adams DECAYING HOUSE

On October 20, 1972, during the installation of the exhibit "Octave of Prayer," at MIT's Hayden Gallery in Cambridge, Massachusetts, Minor White handed me a wall label that read, "Ansel Adams DECAYING HOUSE" and said, "Jim, do something fun with this." About a year later, after leaving work at Imogen Cunningham's house in San Francisco, I visitied an antique shop nearby and, thinking about the relationship between Ansel, Minor and Imogen, purchased the frame that now houses the label that Minor gave to me.
